  • With a view to clear the huge pendency of documents and enabling the Public to get back their registered documents quickly and also to realize the Government revenue blocked in these documents, a ‘Samadhan Scheme’ is being introduced in the Registration Department with effect from 3.1.2018.

  • The Tamil Nadu government has launched an e-governance policy to provide various services digitally

Special Features of the policy

  • Establishing an integrated environment for delivering seamless Government to Citizen (G2C), Government to Employee (G2E), Government to Government (G2G) and Government to Business (G2B) services in a cost-effective manner, besides increasing productivity levels within government are some of the key objectives of the policy.

  • A State-level apex committee for e-Governance headed by the Chief Secretary would be formed for periodic review of the implementation of the policy and would provide necessary guidelines for its implementation.

  • The departments would earmark 0.5 per cent of their annual budget for e-Governance and would be encouraged to increase the same to three per cent in a phased manner over a period of five years.

  • Considering the mobile phone penetration among the people, all departments  would ensure that their applications are compatible to mobile access and utilise the common mobile infrastructure provided by Government of India and the State government like Mobile Service Delivery Gateway (MSDG) etc

  • Mobile applications will be developed in English and Tamil Language using open standards, to the extent possible. The State Portal and Government Departmental Portals will be made ‘mobile compliant’ in due course

  • The policy made it clear that the departments would ensure use of Open Source and Open Standard technologies for software development, unless the use of proprietary technology is unavoidable. This would enable respective departments to prevent vendor lock-in, unnecessary cost on user licences and long-term cost liabilities.

Assam Accord

  • The Assam Accord (1985) was a Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) signed between representatives of the Government of India and the leaders of the All Assam Student Union  Movement in New Delhi on 15 August 1985. It brought an end to the Assam Agitation and accepted to provide Citizenship for those who migrated up to midnight of March 24, 1971, and their descendants and all Indian citizens, including their children and descendants who have moved to Assam post March 24, 1971. Article 6a inserted in Constitution of India to provide Citizenship to those who migrated Assam amending Indian Citizenship act 1955.

The Counting started for group I mains and it is only a matter of days now, Before that one fine day evening your admit cards will be hosted and you will be pushed towards exam hall,: Freaking out or panicking before an exam is quite normal. It is a universal fact that exam pressure is something which either makes a student work hard and brushes up the details and score good or breaks a student.

Basis of the past group I mains Examination of 2013, 2015, 2016, nearly four thousand people qualified for the mains but only 60 – 70 percent of aspirants actually appears for examination. Even after considering that many aspirants take this exam not seriously because they may not be prepared properly. Also the majority of students started preparation after the preliminary result is out. Many aspirants are working in government and they are not able to took leave and prepare they start preparation in last few weeks after getting leave.  There is still a decent amount of time left those who feel not prepared up to the expected level. Make use of the resources available to you. Make your own strategy. Finally don’t take it as merely appearing or trying your hard luck or getting a taste of the examination.
