TNPSC CCSE-IV|VAO SYLLABUS AND SUGGESTED BOOK LIST

Dear Friends and Aspirants TNPSC published notification for VAO so am updated syllabus and what the books to be followed for the examination. Group 4 and VAO syllabus are same. Recently TNPSC merged the both exam candidates can choose any post through the single exam and Basics of Village Administration removed from the Syllabus.

Important Suggestion

  • Try to Score 90 Plus questions in general English. 70 plus questions in general studies. But your ultimate aim should be get 180 plus question correctly (Recent Group IV Trend. But the scoring of 180 plus is depend upon the standard of question).
  • Complete school Text book first. After completing school books you may refer for additional reference but don’t depend coaching material. You can use coaching material for revision only.
  • Some people may advise you should study 10 hours a day but you don’t bother about it. The study time varies person to person some person study only 4 -5 hour per  day , another may study 7- 8 hour per day but the time of study is not important effective study only decides our success.
  • Approach your preparation based on the prescribed syllabus and previous year question paper. If possible paste the syllabus in front of your study place
  • Many people collect various institute materials but they never use. So collect selective notes.
  • Give more importance to the subject in the following order, 1. General Tamil/ English/ 2. Aptitude 3. Current Affairs 4. Polity 5. Basic Gk. 6 Modern India. All Subjects are important but above mentioned subjects covers more than 150 questions.
  • Other than School book you should read Arihant or Lucent  General Knowledge book to score 15 question. Because many people just read school book they are not sound in Fundamental knowledge. This portion decides your top rank.
  • How we studied? what we studied it doesn’t ensure success. In Last 3 hour Examination time only decide our success.  To avoid silly mistake take mock test in your place using shakthi or Sura Question Bank
  • My kind advice to senior players start your preparations which area you are lacking concentrate more on this first.
  • New Aspirants starts with your interested and Easy Subject.

  • கட்டணச்சலுகையை பொறுத்தவரையில் நீங்கள் எத்தனை முறை சரியாக பயன்படுத்தி இருக்கிறீர்கள் என்பதில் சரியாக  நினைவில்லையெனில் பணம் கட்டியே விண்ணப்பம் செய்க. நீங்கள் தெரியாமல் செய்து தேர்வில் வெற்றி பெற்றிருந்தீர்கள் என்றாலும் உங்கள் பணி நிராகரிக்கப்படும்.
  • 10 ஆம் வகுப்பு தேர்வை தனியாக எழுதியிருந்தால் இறுதியாக பெற்ற சான்றிதழின் எண்ணை பதிவு செய்யவும்.
  • விண்ணப்பித்த பிறகு உங்கள் விண்ணப்பத்தை திருத்தல் செய்து கொள்ள அனுமதி உண்டு ஆனால் தேர்வு மையம். பாடம் ஆகியவற்றை மட்டுமே திருத்திக் கொள்ள இயலும்.
  • ஆதரவற்ற விதவைகள் வருவாய்க் கோட்டாட்சியரிடமிருந்து ஆதரவற்ற விதவைக்கான சான்று மாத வருமானம் 4000 ரூபாய்க்கு மிகாமல் இல்லாதவாறு வாங்க வேண்டும்.
  • கம்ப்யூட்டர் மையங்களில் விண்ணப்பம் செய்பவர்கள் கவனமாக விண்ணப்பிக்க வேண்டும் ஏனெனில் சிலர் இலவசக் கட்டணச் சலுகையை தேர்வு செய்வதில் தவறு நேர்பட வாய்ப்பு அதிகம்.

  1. முதலில் பள்ளிப்பாடப்புத்தகங்களை முழுமையாக படிக்கவும்  திருப்புதலுக்காக மட்டுமே அல்லது ஏதேனும் கூடுதல் தகவலுக்காக வேறு நிறுவனத்தின் பாடக்குறிப்புகளை படிக்கவும்
  2. ஒரு நாளைக்கு 5- 7 மணி நேரம் படித்தால் போது உங்களால் வெற்றிபெற முடியும். சிலர் கூறுவது போல் 10 மணி நேரம் படிப்பதென்பது சிறந்ததாக இருக்காது. நாம் எவ்வளவு நேரம் படிக்கின்றோம் என்பதை விட எப்படி படிக்கிறோம் என்பதுதான் முக்கியம். மேலும் அனைத்து நாட்களிலும் உங்களால் ஒரே போல் படிக்க இயலாது சில நாட்கள் அதிக நேரம் படிக்கலாம், சில நாட்கள் குறைவான நேரம் படிக்கலாம் அதைப்பற்றி கவலைப்பட தேவையில்லை. அனைவரும் இது மாதிரி பிரச்சனையை எதிர்கொள்வர்.
  3. பாடத்திட்டத்தை மையமாக வைத்தே படியுங்கள் அது உங்கள் தயாரிப்பினை நெறிப்படுத்தும். முடிந்தால் நீங்கள் படிக்கும் இடத்தில் பாடத்திட்டத்தினை நீங்கள் பார்க்கும் படி வைத்தால் சிறப்பாக இருக்கும்.
  4. சிலர் பல்வேறு பயிற்சி மையங்களின் பாடக்குறிப்புகள் (மெட்டீரியல்ஸ்) சேகரிப்பர் ஆனால் அவற்றை படிக்க மாட்டார்கள். எனவே நீங்கள் ஏதாவது ஒரு பயிற்சி மையத்தின் பாடக்குறிப்பினை பயன்படுத்துங்கள்.
  5. பொதுவாக மொழிப்பாடம் தமிழ்/ஆங்கிலம்/ மற்றும் அறிவுக்கூர்மை மற்றும் நடப்பு நிகழ்வுகள் போன்றவற்றில் கவனம் செலுத்தினால் உங்களால் சரியாக 125 கேள்விகளுக்கு இந்த மூன்று பகுதிகளில் இருந்து விடையளிக்க இயலும். இதை கவனத்தில் கொள்ளுங்கள்.
  6. கூடுமானவரை பழைய வினாத்தாள்களை அடிப்படையாக வைத்து உங்கள் தயாரிப்பினை மேம்படுத்துங்கள்.
  7. பாடப்புத்தகம் தவிர்த்து,மனோரமா பொது அறிவுப் புத்தகம், அல்லது விகடன் பொது அறிவுப் புத்தகம் , ஆங்கிலத்தில் அரிஹந்த் அல்லது லூசெண்ட் பொது அறிவு புத்தகத்தில் ஏதாவது ஒன்றை நீங்கள் கட்டாயம் படிக்கவேண்டும். நீங்கள் இப்புத்தகத்தினை படித்தால் அதிகபட்சம் சராசரியை விட கூடுதலாக உங்களால் 15 வினாக்களுக்கு சரியான விடையளிக்க வேண்டும். டாக்டர் சங்கர சரவணின் பொது அறிவுக் களஞ்சியம் என்ற புத்தகத்தையும் வாசிக்க வேண்டும்
  8. நாம் எவ்வளவுதான் படித்தாலும் தேர்வு நாளன்று நாம் 3 மணி நேரத்தில் எவ்வாறு விடையளிக்கப்போகிறோம் என்பதில் தான் இருக்கிறது அங்கு நாம் பண்ணுகின்ற தவறு என்னவென்றால் கேள்வியை தவறாக புரிந்து கொண்டு விடையளிப்பது இதை தவிர்ப்பதற்காக ஏதேனும் ஒரு வினாத்தாள் ( சக்தி அல்லது சுரா )தொகுப்பினை வைத்து ஒவ்வொரு வாரமும்  பயிற்சி செய்யுங்கள் .

  • The Questioner not yet changed since Ancient Time of TNPSC Expect 3 marks Questions
  • Many in 8 & 15 mark Question are repeated ones ( Unitary Feature , Citizenship act , Financial Relation between union and states )
  • Those who practiced previous year question paper excelled in polity part expect 3 mark question
  • This time they left questions on Fundamental rights, India’s Foreign policy, Elections.
  • Through 3 mark Questions Questioner tried to play with aspirants in Time Management

  • All Questions can be answered by Aspirants but many people not giving importance to Geography 
  • Mostly Direct Questions expect few ( need for Conservation of Nature , Norwest or like )
  • Commission Expect mains Aspirants must refer some books other than School book
  • Catchy Phrases mindset yet to be changed still they are asking, Norwestor , Mango showers . In every year it’s appeared in Mains Question paper.
Unit II of this paper need not be analyzed because it’s common to all and there is no changes but this sections favors only to the aspirant who chosen English. For a Tamil student needs to prepare lot but English student can be write without any special preparation

General Observation

  • Many aspirants expected Administration part is going to be very tough after wrote last group II mains because that question was very hard . but the question setter not yet changed and needs to be changed
  • In this particular unit those who have written mains earlier could be scored well
  • New aspirants not prepared as like senior prepared because new aspirants focused only Administration and Schemes not portions according to syllabus
  • And there are no proper sources and books for this unit. And this unit combination of various subjects, industrial map is part of geography, budget and financial administration from public administration , schemes have to be studied in various Govt document and policies
  • Finally administration is the reflection of old question paper.

Final observation

  • There is no change in the paper as expected by the aspirants after writing group II mains.
  • Many Serious aspirants can complete the paper even those who prepared minimum level with previous year question paper because most of the questions are the replica (except) of old questions from 2008 Mains.
  • Those who completed paper with valid points can be able to score around 200 marks

General Observation

  • A Few Questions are reflection from 2016 mains Question paper, 1. State Reorganization 2. E.V. Periyar
  • Comparing to Last mains the current paper Tamilnadu related area accounts 45 marks its 40 % increase in total history mark of 121.
  • Comparing with Past question paper the 2017 paper is somewhat dynamic Serious Aspirants realize that.
  • Those who completed the syllabus can write Maximum 100 – 105 marks only.
  • The paper tells us the candidate should prepare the all topics mentioned in the syllabus not focusing some areas only.
  • Some New Aspirants may thing the senior players has done well this part but the assumption is not completely correct. Most of the senior players never gave importance to Tamilnadu related area.
UNIT – II OF THE PAPER ONE IS NORMAL NO CHANGES IN THIS UNIT. THOSE WHO SOUND IN MATHS THEY ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS IN THREE SECTIONS. MATHS PLAY A CRUCIAL ROLE IN DECIDING THEIR NAME IN INTERVIEW AND RANK LIST BECAUSE THIS PORTION CAN GIVE FULL MARK FOR ALL ANSWERED QUESTION

GENERAL OBSERVATION

  • This science technology paper is entirely different from the past papers , most of the questions checked our presence of mind , normally they will ask directly answer like questions but this time different
  • Absence of science and technology especially recent trends and technologies
  • Generally most of the questions formed directly from the syllabus itself but this time they asked from diversion of the topic
  • Many of the candidates feared science and technology before exams but tnpsc asked simple questions to answer them it’s difficult
  • most candidates managed to answer all questions
  • The paper tells us the candidates are expected to prepare science and technology with understanding of the fact and concepts not question and answer type and candidates must know the diversion of the topics in-depth.
  • This area common for both newer and senior players.
  • Samacheer book is not enough to answer the questions, the candidate’s needs to read 11 & 12th syllabus wise and 2004 old edition of science books.

Final Observation

  1. The Paper looks like easy but most of the candidates filled the pages what they know relevant to the answer so the mark of the answers in the hands of evaluator
  2. As I Mentioned earlier many people used Maths as scoring area without losing marks in theory
  3. Some of the new serious  Aspirants left around 20 marks , senior players managed with their writing skills
  4. Finally the paper was so good what others expected TNPSC improved in asking questions and deviated from the conventional area because, in this paper expansion of British rule is completely absent and given more space to Tamilnadu related area and most of the questions are unexpected and also in science TNPSC questions are analytical and we should write own there is no readymade answer.
  5. Those who completed the paper with enough valid points may get around 200 – 210 as Highest
